This policy explains how Forely ("the app"), published by Vital Wellness Group LLC ("we", "us"), handles information. It applies to the Forely iOS app and its widgets, Live Activities, Siri and Shortcuts actions.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect, store or sell personal information. We have no user accounts and no access to your calendars, reminders, location or usage. We don't use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and we don't track you across apps or websites.
2. Calendar and Reminders
With your permission, Forely reads and writes your events and reminders through Apple's EventKit framework, on your device. Time blocks Forely creates are saved as events in a "Forely" calendar in your Apple Calendar. Edits you make in Forely are written back to Apple Calendar and Reminders. This data is not sent to us. It syncs across your devices only through Apple's own Calendar and Reminders sync, under Apple's terms.
3. Forely's own data
Forely stores a small amount of its own data on your device: links between prep tasks and events, task durations, your Top 3 picks, outdoor flags, notification choices, themes and other settings (including the weather city you set, if any), and any Ask Forely conversation you pin. If "Sync with iCloud" is on, this data is stored in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit. We cannot read your private iCloud database. You can turn sync off in Settings → iCloud Sync.
4. AI features
Forely's AI features use Apple Intelligence, which runs on your device. This covers turning typed text into events and tasks, planning your day, suggesting prep tasks, writing summaries, and Ask Forely. Your text and schedule are processed by Apple's on-device model. They are not sent to us or to any third-party AI provider. On devices without Apple Intelligence, Forely uses its own built-in parsing, which also runs entirely on your device.
5. Locations and weather
Event locations
When you type in an event's Location field, Forely sends that text to Apple's MapKit to suggest matching places. MapKit is also used to look up a place you've typed when you save. This happens whether or not weather is turned on. The place you choose is saved to the event's location in Apple Calendar, with its map pin, just like adding a location in the Calendar app. It then syncs wherever that calendar syncs, which could be iCloud, Google or Exchange, under that service's terms.
Weather
If you turn on weather, Forely gets forecasts from Apple's WeatherKit service. To do this, Forely sends Apple a location in one of three forms:
- your device's approximate location, if you grant permission (Forely asks for it only when you turn weather on);
- a city you enter in Settings;
- for an outdoor event, that event's location.
Forecast requests use coordinates rounded to about 1 km, and forecasts are cached on your device.
Locations are never sent to us or to any AI service. Apple's handling of MapKit and WeatherKit requests is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
6. Purchases
Forely Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes all payments. We never receive your payment details. Forely checks your purchase status with Apple's StoreKit on your device.
7. Notifications, Siri, widgets and Live Activities
Heads-ups, daily summaries and weekly briefings are local notifications scheduled on your device. Siri and Shortcuts requests are processed by Apple. Widgets and Live Activities read data from a container on your device that only Forely can access.
8. Children
Forely is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Keeping and deleting your data
Because we don't hold your data, there's nothing for us to delete on our side. To remove Forely's data:
- delete the app;
- to remove synced data, go to iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Forely.
Events and reminders, including the "Forely" calendar, stay in Apple Calendar and Reminders until you delete them there.
10. Security
Data stays on your device or in Apple's services, protected by iOS. Connections to Apple services use encrypted HTTPS.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how Forely handles data, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes, such as adding an AI service that runs off your device, will be described in the app before they take effect.
